"A continuum of color forms when a beam of white light passes through a prism so that its component wavelengths are arranged in order. A spectrum is a condition that is not limited to a specific set of values but can vary across a continuum. The word was first used scientifically in optics to describe the rainbow of colors in visible light after passing through a prism. As scientific understanding of light advanced, it came to apply to the entire electromagnetic spectrum."

Interlapping Processes: The Practice of Artist Elizabeth Riley
Posted: April 26, 2022
"ANTE mag open call winner Elizabeth Riley explores a multitude of forms through her expansive artistic practice, with interlapping processes informing her video and multimedia artworks. She explores the ‘mixed reality’ that we inhabit and the duality we experience as citizens of both a physical reality and our ever-evolving digital environments. We sat down with Elizabeth for insights into her current practice, what has informed her recent work and her plans and aspirations for the future."

“WECOME BACK is a group exhibition featuring over thirty artists’ responses to the unprecedented COVID-19 Pandemic. Curated by Jean Sonderand for Maggi Peyton Gallery, and hosted by the Manhattan Borough President’s Office, the exhibition is an opportunity for artists and the public to come together and consider the variety of public and private experiences we have faced over the last two years. February 9, 2019
by Christina Massey
Thank you Christina Massey for this terrific interview!
"While personally, I feel like I’ve been genetically wired to feel a positivity toward the future (though our present political climate may have put a dent in this), I had a kind of “we are the future” moment when someone said about a new tabletop city installation that it was a “city of the future,” so that in that moment I saw the materials I was using, which had a digital look, and also incorporating embedded live videos, as being or signifying the future."
